I recently took a call from a female caller at a marketing company that opened with the line - “Hello, is that the man of the house?”,

What, the house NEEDS a man?

The house can’t function without a man?

Are you trying to sell me an erection cure? (that I don’t need, cough, LOL)

Why didn’t she just say, “Hello, this is the 1970’s calling, want to buy some bad wallpaper?”

I guess I was just a little surprised and to be honest a little shocked

Am I behind the times to find my caller display box doesnt have a gender symbol so I know only to anwer the call if it is for a male,

Don’t get me wrong, I am a man and I’m pretty useful but women are just as useful, maybe miss marketer should set her goals a little higher

I used to work beside a woman that would have given her a half hour response to that opening line so I guess the fact that I put the phone down on her without saying another word was rather kind LOL
